How to Send Money from an Agent Location

Step 1: Complete Transaction

Fill out the appropriate form, provide the amount being sent and the fee, and give it to the Agent. Save your Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN).

Step 2: Money is Ready for Pick up

Money can be picked up at participating Agent locations worldwide.

How to Receive Money

Make sure the money is ready before pickup by contacting the sender or checking the transfer status using the MTCN.

Step 1: Visit an Agent Location

Visit a nearby Western Union Agent location.

Step 2: Complete the “Receive Money” form

Provide the sender’s name, city and country, the amount, and the MTCN if required.

Step 3: Show your ID

Present the completed form and a valid government-issued photo ID.

Step 4: Receive the money and receipt

Collect the money and receipt from the clerk.

Receiving in Canada

• Identification details are required for payouts of $1,000 CAD or higher.
• The receiver must present the correct MTCN.
• Receivers must be at least 18 years old.
